Two days before the US government's action, Anthropic's Dario Medeiros stated that he believes the government should have the ability to ban models that pose certain risks.

Anthropic decided to pull its Fable-5 and Mythos-5 models from the market entirely because it deemed the restriction against use by foreign nationals, including those in the US, to be unworkable.
